Well what a day Saturday 7th July was, the continued sunshine, England playing in the semi-finals and best of all Marchwood Fete was back!
The committee increased in numbers to allow for enough volunteers to organise and run the event on the day. Everyone agreed the theme of a Victorian Fair and began in December to plan the event.
The team could not do it, without the support of family and friends from the beginning to the end. I would like to say a big thank you to all those involved.

Thank you to all the stall holders, local charities and community who supported the event.
We raised over £700 from donations, including those at the entrance gate and from the Victorian Carousel, which was funded by Barker Mills.
This year we were sponsored by Veolia, Barker Mills, Welcome Stores, The Pilgrim Inn, Cllr Benson, Cllr Hoare, Marchwood Parish Council, Marchwood Power, Arnold Clark, PRS music and the Manna Bakery.
The committee is still going strong with a new member joining our team and following our debrief on 9th July we decided that the fete is back to stay.
We are all passionate to keep the fete going as it is such an important part of our community, a platform for others in the village to raise much required funds for charities and a chance to meet with friends and family.
A date for your diaries! Next year’s fete will be on Saturday 6th July 2019 and the theme will be Tropical Islands.

Our next meeting will be in September after the holidays where we plan to start bookings for the entertainment. If you wish to join our friendly team we are always looking for new team members.
